Your radio guide

Tune in, adjust your sound, and make the radio yours. Playback continues while you read.

Keyboard shortcuts

  • + (or =) / − — raise / lower volume by 5%.
  • ← / → — previous / next enabled station.
  • P — power on / off. R — reload the page and refresh stations.
  • M — mute / unmute. E — show / hide EQ. C — show / hide channels.
  • H — open / close Help. T — switch light / dark mode.
  • G — remove / replace the speaker grille.
  • A — open Add Channel.
  • O — open / close Options. S — sleep timer. B — compact view.
  • / — search channels. F — add or remove the current station from favorites. 1–9 — tune favorites.
  • Q — cycle EQ presets. In Options: X — export backup, I — import backup.
  • V — change visualization. Enter / Space — toggle fullscreen. Esc — close a dialog or EQ, or exit fullscreen.

Shortcuts also work in fullscreen. Help, Channels, and Add return to the radio. Hold volume or station keys to repeat. Text fields, dialogs, and focused controls keep their normal keys; H closes Help, and Options supports O, S, B, X, and I. Visualization and fullscreen shortcuts pause while EQ is open.

Radio display

  • Click or tap once to cycle through Frequency bars, Oscilloscope, Mirrored spectrum, Waterfall, and Off. Off hides the visualization and keeps playback running. The visualization icon does the same.
  • Double click or tap to enter or leave fullscreen, or use the fullscreen icon. If fullscreen is unavailable, the display fills the browser window.
  • Swipe left or right to change stations. Hold and drag to preview while the current station keeps playing. Release on another station to tune, or return to the original before releasing to keep listening.
  • Hold at either edge during a drag to keep browsing toward the first or last enabled station. Move away or release to stop. Display gestures also work in fullscreen.

Playback and tuning

Press POWER to start or stop live radio. Changing station or adjusting volume also turns it on.

Turn or drag the TUNING knob, tap it for the next station, or use the arrows beside it. Only enabled stations are included. With the knob focused, arrow keys, Home, and End also work. Supported headset and device media controls can switch stations.

Voice control

Tap VOICE and allow microphone access. Say an English command beginning with “Radio,” then pause briefly:

  • “Radio next” or “Radio skip” / “Radio previous” — change station and restore sound.
  • “Radio mute” or “Radio pause” — silence the station while the stream keeps running.
  • “Radio play”, “Radio start”, or “Radio unmute” — restore sound or start playback.
  • “Radio stop” or “Radio off” — stop playback. Voice stays on so you can start it again.

Tap VOICE again or the display’s microphone icon to stop listening. Keep Music visible and your screen unlocked. After leaving the app or a browser interruption, tap VOICE to resume. Voice starts off each time you open Music.

The voice status shows the words heard and offers guidance after 15 seconds without words. If commands are hard to hear, lower the speaker volume or try headphones.

Your browser handles recognition and may use a speech service. Music does not save microphone audio or transcripts. Support varies; on iPhone, use Safari or the Home Screen app.

Volume and mute

Turn or drag the VOLUME knob, or use its arrows for 5% steps. With the knob focused, arrow keys, Home, and End also work. Both knobs support vertical dragging from their centre.

MUTE silences the station without changing your volume setting. Press again to unmute. The stream and visualizations keep running. Your device’s volume is separate.

Enable Control sounds in Options for knob and EQ ticks and button clicks. They stay audible at a fixed level when the station is muted or its volume is zero. Control sounds start off.

Equalizer

Press EQ to adjust five bands from bass (100 Hz) to treble (10 kHz), each from −12 to +12 dB. Drag a slider vertically, or focus it and use arrow keys, Home, or End.

Choose FLAT, BASS, VOICE, or LOUDNESS for a starting point. LOUDNESS boosts bass and treble. RESET returns all bands to 0 dB.

Press EQ, E, or Esc to close. EQ is saved and applies to every station. Editing it keeps stopped playback stopped; display gestures and visualization switching pause while it is open.

Channels

  • Press CHANNELS to show or hide station cards. Select a card to tune, or use Visit broadcaster to open its website.
  • Search by channel name, broadcaster, or country. Clear the search before reordering.
  • Use a card’s switch to include or exclude it from tuning. Disabled cards stay visible. At least one must stay enabled; disabling the playing station tunes the next enabled one.
  • Hold a card’s grip, drag it over another card, and release to reorder. On desktop, you can also hold the card itself. A focused grip supports arrow keys, Home, and End. Reordering keeps playback running.
  • Press Add to save your own direct HTTPS MP3 or AAC stream. Use a stream that allows playback from other websites, rather than a player-page link.
  • The pen edits a channel. For channels you add, you can edit all fields; for included channels, only the name. Use the bin to remove an added channel and Undo to restore it.

Speaker, theme, and saved settings

Tap the speaker grille to reveal the speaker moving with the music; tap again to cover it.

The DARK switch changes between light and dark themes. Music follows your device theme until you choose one.

This browser remembers your sound and display settings, last station, recently played stations, power state, channel names and order, favorites, and enabled channels. Mute resets on reload; channels and EQ start closed.

Display information and recovery

The display shows the station, connection status, position, and volume. Song details and audio sample rate appear when available.

Listening now: the header estimates active playback sessions, updating about once a minute. Muted, zero-volume, stopped, and buffering sessions are excluded. Two playing tabs can count twice, and background suspension can affect the estimate. A dash means the count is unavailable.

For this count, Music sends a temporary random playback ID and whether audio is playing. The ID stays only in memory, expires after two minutes without a heartbeat, and is removed on the next count request. Music does not save analytics cookies, persistent visitor IDs, IP addresses, countries, station choices, or listening history for this feature. Hosting providers still process requests under their own policies.

If playback gets stuck or shows Audio paused, press RETRY. It reconnects the station while keeping your volume, mute, EQ, and sleep timer.

Music tries to resume interrupted audio while power is on, retries failed connections up to three times, and waits while offline. POWER stops playback and recovery.

RELOAD refreshes the page and station catalogue while keeping saved settings. If power was on, Music tries to resume. Your browser may ask for a tap or key press to allow audio.

Make it yours

  • Favorites: tap the heart on the display or a channel card to add a station to favorites or remove it. A filled heart marks a favorite. Enabled favorites appear below the radio as Favorites shortcuts for quick tuning; press 1–9 to tune them.
  • Recently played: the channel picker shows up to five previously played stations, newest first, excluding the current station. Only stations that started playing are added. History stays in this browser; disabled or removed channels are omitted, and search hides the shortcuts.
  • Channel names: use the pen on any channel card to give it your own name. For included channels, Reset restores the original name in the form; press Save to apply it. Their stream URL and other details are read-only under Details, which starts collapsed.
  • Options: Compact view hides the speaker for a smaller radio. Toggle Control sounds for clicks and ticks, or Show tooltips for control hints.
  • Sleep: choose 15, 30, or 60 minutes in Options. Tap the countdown below the radio to cancel. If the browser suspends Music, an expired timer stops playback on resume.
  • Backup: export your settings, added channels, and custom channel names from Options. Import shows a preview before replacing this browser’s settings and leaves playback stopped.

Install

Use your browser’s install command to add Voltura Music to your home screen or desktop. Live radio needs an internet connection.

Add channel

Add a direct HTTPS live audio stream. Your channel is saved in this browser.

Use an MP3 or AAC stream that allows playback from other websites, rather than a link to a player page.
